We are learning to do science experiments. We tried a flower experiment. We put dye in a glass with a daffodil to see if the petals would change colur. All of the flowers have changed colurs - red, blue, green and orange. A week later, the changes we have noticed are........the red affodil has a lot of colour, the petals are starting tio shut, there is only one strip of orange on the daffodil in the orange dye, the flowers are starting to die, the stalks are all darker, the veins are changing the colour of the dye.
For our next experiment, our question is.......which seed will grow faster - the nasturtiums or the radishes?
We think the radishes will grow faster. we said grow owuld be 3 cms tall.
On day one, there has been no change in the seeds.
Our procedure was......
1. Get the trays and seeds, egg cartons, water, jar, scissors, potting mix.
2. Cut the egg carton in half.
3. We put water in the little holes.
4. We put potting mix in each hole.
5. We put 2 seeds in each hole.
6. We put another layer of potting mix on the seeds.
7. We put squished down the seeds so you couldn't see them.
8.We put the egg cartons on the black trays.
9. We put the trays on the yellow table because the most sun and light is over there.
We can't wait to see which seed is the fastes to grow!!!!!!
We are a class of year 4 and 5 children. We are wonderful at learning new concepts and love coming to school. We love getting outside to play games. We love drawing, painting and using our brains to think of ways to solve problems.

Wow!! So much has been ahppening since we were last on our blog.
We had about 7 chidlren represent us in the Interschool Cross Country at weber school. That was a great day and everyone tried so hard on the muddy course!!
We have had Bob Bickerton visit us at school. He made a few of us get up and dance with our classmates. That was really funny - Bob also had some amazing instruments which he played - irish bagpipes, maori instruments and the beautiful harp. Bob was also very funny and he told us a wonderful story about a sailor and his maori maiden!!
This week - and it is only Monday we have had the fire alarm got off twice.
